BROOKLYN (PIX11) - Social media threats against the lives of students at three Brooklyn high schools prompted additional security and a police investigation Thursday. Parents received a robocall from the principal alerting them of the investigation into the apparent threat to shoot students at Edward R. Murrow, James Madison and Midwood high schools.

intelligence Division is currently looking into the online post. According to sources, the threat may have been an old one that was reposted.The threat doesn’t appear credible at this time, but there will be additional school safety agents and police officers at all three schools Friday. Police have not made any arrests; an investigation is ongoing.
